At the Senior Symposium, Pensacola State College’s Charter Academy Class of 2025 presented their Capstone projects to a standing-room-only audience. Each project highlighted research on a career path that personally interested the student, supported by 20 hours of mentorship with a professional in the field.
Parents, mentors, Charter Academy administrators, PSC President Ed Meadows, and members of the PSC Board of Trustees engaged with the seniors, posing questions that encouraged students to reflect on their projects and next steps.
More than a presentation, the experience gave students a meaningful opportunity to explore their interests in real-world settings and, in many cases, refine their path forward. Senior Ella Kimball, for example, shared how her mentorship experience helped her realize that occupational therapy was a better fit for her than physical therapy: “I learned that occupational therapy would give me more facetime with patients, which is really important to me,” Kimball said.
The event not only celebrated students’ academic growth but also highlighted their preparedness to take the next step toward their college and career goals. For many seniors, the experience was a valuable step in clarifying what they want to pursue after high school and helped shape a clearer vision of who they want to become.
