On December 16th, 2023, the compassionate and dedicated students of PSC Charter Academy Interact Club came together to volunteer at Barrancas National Cemetery on NAS Pensacola, participating in a heartwarming wreath-laying ceremony to honor the fallen soldiers laid to rest in the historic cemetery.
With respect and solemnity, students carefully laid wreaths on the gravestones of the brave men and women who served our country. The Charter Academy is immensely proud and thankful for these selfless students who, despite their busy schedules, took time to pay tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
Fast forward to January 16th, 2024, when the PSC Charter Academy Interact Club members once again demonstrated their commitment to community service. This time, they joined forces with the Marine Corps League of Pensacola to assist in the cleanup of the wreaths laid on December 16th, 2023.
Rising early on a Saturday morning, the students, armed with dedication and a strong sense of community, actively participated in the retrieval of the wreaths. Working alongside the Marine Corps League of Pensacola, our Interact Club members successfully gathered well over 10,000 wreaths. This effort was part of the larger initiative that saw 29,550 wreaths laid in December to commemorate the sacrifices of the fallen heroes.
The PSC Charter Academy Interact Club’s involvement in both the wreath-laying ceremony and cleanup underscores the values of community service, respect, and gratitude that are instilled in the students. By actively participating in events that honor the memory of those who served, these young individuals are making a tangible impact on the community and embodying the spirit of giving back.
The Charter Academy commends its Interact Club members for their outstanding contributions and looks forward to fostering a continued sense of civic responsibility among its student body.
