The Pensacola State College Charter Academy, under the governance of a local Board of Trustees and through a rigorous academic program housed within a supportive environment, is committed to providing high school students the opportunity to earn a high school diploma, college credits, and an Associate in Arts or Associate in Science degree concurrently. The Charter Academy accepted its first class of students, all 11th and 12th grade students, in Fall 2022. Starting in Fall 2024, 9th and 10th grade students will be admitted into the program. Opportunities are available for Career and Technical Education as well as the university transfer program. The Charter Academy will be fully operational in the third year of operation, when it will serve up to 300 high school students.
The Charter Academy, with the support of school leaders, teachers, families, and strategic partners within the community, lays the groundwork for students to excel as college and career-ready lifelong learners and instill in students a profound understanding of their roles and responsibilities as citizens and leaders in their communities.
Key components of the Charter Academy are the rigor and acceleration embedded within the program combined with the care and support provided by a dedicated staff.
The Charter Academy builds upon the success achieved by Pensacola State College since its founding in 1948. Recognized as a premier, student-friendly college, PSC prepares students to meet their educational and career goals. The wealth of resources offered by the College—from Academic Affairs, Business Affairs, Student Affairs, and Administrative Services—is extended to the faculty and staff of the Charter Academy, ensuring the success of the school and its students.
