Enrollment Requirements for 2024-2025

Thank you for your interest in the Charter Academy at Pensacola State College. The Charter Academy, located on both the Pensacola Campus and the Warrington Campus, serves highly motivated ninth, tenth, eleventh, and twelfth graders who seek to earn an Associate in Arts degree or an Associate in Science degree and transferable college credits simultaneously.    

To enroll in the Charter Academy for the Fall 2024 term, a student must be an eighth, ninth, tenth, or eleventh grader in the 2023-2024 academic year. Enrollment requirements per grade level are listed below. 

Grade 9 

  • Minimum 3.0 middle school GPA
    During the term of the Florida Department of Education Charter School Program (CSP) Grant, Pensacola State College Charter Academy will waive the entrance GPA criterion for incoming 9th grade students.
  • Earned middle school credits in Government, Mathematics, Science, and English 
  • No disciplinary issues 
  • No attendance issues

Grade 10 

  • Minimum 3.0 unweighted high school GPA 
  • Minimum of five (5) earned high school credits, including English I and Algebra I  
  • No disciplinary issues 
  • No attendance issues 

Grade 11 and Grade 12 

  • Minimum 3.0 unweighted high school GPA 
  • Placement at the college level in reading, English, and mathematics via common placement testing or alternative methods   
  • No disciplinary issues 
  • No attendance issues 

The application must be completed by the parent or legal guardian of the student applying for admission to the Charter Academy. The online application will be completed via Microsoft Forms and is located on the Charter Academy website.  

Official high school or middle school transcripts and PERT, ACT, SAT, or other test scores may be sent electronically by the current school through a verified service such as FASTER, Parchment, or Scribbles to Pensacola State College. Official transcripts and test scores may also be sent via US Postal Service to Pensacola State College, 1000 College Boulevard, Building 2, Records, Pensacola, FL 32504, Attention: Charter Academy. In addition, official transcripts and test scores may be hand-delivered to Pensacola State College, 1000 College Boulevard, Building 2, Records, Pensacola, FL 32504, Attention: Charter Academy.  

The Charter Academy cannot make an admission decision and an application is not considered complete until transcripts and test scores are received.  

The Charter Academy will enroll eligible students who apply before the published deadline, unless the number of applications exceeds the capacity of a grade level or program. In such a case, all applicants shall have an equal chance of being admitted through a lottery, a random selection process.  

Applicants will be notified of an admissions decision via email. Admitted students will receive an enrollment packet and checklist via email. The enrollment packet must be returned to the Charter Academy in person during regular business hours.
