PSC Charter Academy kicked off the 2024-2025 school year with its first Enrichment Day, a dynamic event designed to help students build essential life skills while fostering a sense of community and connection. The day provided both Juniors and Seniors with unique opportunities to develop their personal and academic abilities in preparation for their future endeavors.
For Seniors the day was especially significant as they began their Senior Capstone Project—a major academic milestone that allows them to explore a career path of interest in depth. In addition to starting their Capstone, seniors took part in workshops focused on creating their first resumes and cover letters, equipping them with critical tools for college applications, internships, and future careers.
Meanwhile, Juniors dedicated their Enrichment Day to strengthening their time management skills, a vital area of focus as they prepare for the academic challenges of their senior year. Through engaging activities and sessions, they learned strategies to help them manage their growing responsibilities both inside and outside the classroom.
All students also participated in the Navigate 360 curriculum, a state-mandated program designed to address crucial topics such as mental health, suicide prevention, and safety management. This initiative ensures that students not only focus on academic success but also develop the emotional resilience and awareness needed to navigate life’s challenges. The curriculum plays a key role in promoting mental health and safety, empowering students to look out for themselves and their peers.
Beyond the educational workshops, Enrichment Day provided a valuable opportunity for Juniors and Seniors to connect and form friendships through group activities, reinforcing the strong sense of community at PSC Charter Academy. These events are more than just academic—they offer a chance for students to support each other, collaborate, and build lasting relationships.
PSC Charter Academy’s Enrichment Day was a resounding success, setting the tone for a school year filled with growth, learning, and connection. As the year progresses, these enrichment days will continue to help students develop the skills and relationships they need to thrive both in school and beyond.
